Established in 1981 California Aero Marketing is owner operated by Fred Holstein. Fred’s flying career began in the early 1950’s flying tail draggers from a small grass strip in New Jersey. Since then he earned a Bachelors of Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, New Jersey and pursued an engineering career in the electronics industry, all the while continuing to fly as much as possible. Joining a flying club in New Jersey enabled him to earn his pilot ratings culminating with ATP, and Certified Flight Instructor/ Instrument. Maintaining the club aircraft enabled him to earn his A&P certificate and subsequently his inspection Authorization. Transferred to California in 1979 Fred sought out a flying club. He has been an active member of Orange County Flyers ever since, though going on to own his own airplanes. Since relocating to California he has added his multi-Engine rating, Boeing 727 and Beech 2000 (Starship) type ratings. Subsequently teaching the 727 Flight Engineer and Type ratings in a local simulator for five years. The demand for Fred’s services resulted in his retiring from the electronics industry and devoting his efforts full time to aviation. In 2000 California Aero Marketing incorporated and Jeffrey Holstein joined the company. Jeff is a pilot, and A&P holding an inspection Authorization. Jeff brings over 20 years aviation experience with him. After High School , he joined the US Navy , graduating in the top two percent of his basic training class he was offered his choice of assignments. Jeff elected to serve at the Aircraft Intermediate Maintenance facility at NAS Miramar working on turbojet engines. After Miramar He joined F-14 Squadron VF-214 stationed aboard the USS Enterprise. Upon retiring from the Navy, Jeff has worked for Victor Aviation, Eagle Engines an avionics shop and several fixed base operators in San Diego, Orange County and Redding California. In 2006 California Aero Marketing opened a permanent maintenance facility at Fallbrook Airpark in Fallbrook California. Jeffrey’s diverse experience made him the perfect choice to build and run the facility. |
